An interest in food and my expedition experiences have been the reason to start working 100% with Adventure Food. The requirements that food has to meet under such extreme conditions are a rock-solid learning experience for the continuous optimization of the product range. Good nutrition only becomes really important during a 70-day expedition to the North Pole (1997: 1st Dutch North Pole expedition) or during the climb of an 8000er (2002: 1st Dutchman without supplementary oxygen on Mount Everest). I realize like no other that characteristics such as nutritional value, taste and ease of use are of crucial importance in accomplishing such challenges. All things which the ordinary outdoor sportsman also benefits from when he chooses Adventure Food!

OUTDOOR AND NUTRITION
'Take enough water with you.' Everyone knows that. But we also need energy to perform better and safer physically and mentally: carbohydrates, proteins and fats. For many, nutrition is a tricky issue. Some prepare their food in advance at home.Question then is: Where do I take it? Will it stay good? How do I prepare it? Will I be hungry for it? Do I take a bowl or a plate with me? How heavy is it and will it fit in my backpack? Others buy their food locally, but then often don't have the right or enough nutrition to be responsibly active. They lose weight; they have stopped early and/or have literally lost weight as well. The fact is that you can't do without good, balanced nutrition.
Then there is a relatively small but rapidly growing group who know how the professional approaches it. They use a modern energy supply: freeze-dried food. One of the few manufacturers in Europe is Adventure Food from our own country.
They make the perfect meals for the active outdoor athlete. It is logical that the demand is growing strongly, because once tasted the convenience of this product, then it belongs to the standard equipment. The advantages: One bag weighs only 150 grams. Just adding (hot) water results in a complete, surprisingly tasty meal of over 500 grams and 600kCal. It gives a lot of energy; a perfect balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Adventure Food has a wide range of meals; breakfast, lunch, evening meals and desserts, potato, pasta and rice dishes, meat and vegetarian meals. You eat the 1 portion meal from the pouch. You only need to rinse your spoon.
Test in VILLMARKSLIV (WILDLIVE)
In May 2014, VILLMARKSLIV tested outdoor food in 5 categories; meat, chicken, vegetarian and pasta. Adventure Food does not produce fish meals. We participated in 4 categories. Even if you don't speak Norwegian you will be convinced who has the best outdoor food.
In Norway everyone uses outdoor food. Norwegians even have a name for it: Turmat.
